This is the history tab. The saxophone was invented in the early 1840's by belgian instrument maker Adolphe Sax, it was originally made as an instrument to bridge between brass and woodwind for heavy strong marches. But due to it's versatility it has now grown to a critical instrument in a variety of music all around the world.
