This is the mouthpiece tab. The saxophones mouthpiece is it's most critical part, it is the part that makes the sound. When you blow into the saxophones mouthpiece a piece of wood called the reed vibrates and sends sound down the saxophone to make different notes depending on the keys pressed down on the body.
